With a combination of expert knowledge and services that cater to individual needs, we aim to leave people with more freedom of choice and an all round better lifestyle. We trust that our clients know best how to run their business, so we’re here to support and equip them in that journey.

As part of this philosophy, we’re passionate about building genuine relationships with our people. When you come to us, we want to know what’s really at the heart of your business, what makes it work and what you love about it. After all, if we don’t really understand what makes you and your business tick, how can we offer meaningful advice and effective services?

Our History

Our team has been in the business of empowering the Kiwi business community for well over a decade. Today we work with clients all across New Zealand, based out of the central Waikato town of Cambridge.

Jane Evans - Director (CA)

Jane's never been quite like other accountants, she is a creative thinker, never afraid to challenge herself and the coach and mentor in her likes to challenge those around her.

She embarked on her journey as a Chartered Accountant in rural Hawkes Bay where she grew up, building up extensive experience in several large professional services firms both in NZ and overseas with a stint of commercial experience thrown in as a project and management accountant.

She is passionate about growing great businesses and the farm girl in her is passionate about the agricultural industry. Early in 2016, Jane founded AgBiz Accountants followed by a name change in December 2020 to Evans Doyle Ltd, which is a lifelong dream where she continues to look after both new clients and clients she has worked with for many years.

Jane has two daughters and two golden retriever dogs who you will meet from time to time at the office.  She is a keen masters rower, mountain biker and she loves to dance.

Tim Doyle – Director (CA)

Tim is passionate about working with business owners to help achieve success. Over the last ten years, Tim's experience has ranged from working with SME businesses around the Waikato to working within a FTSE 250 company in London; so he has a wealth of knowledge to call upon.

His knowledge and experience means he is able to communicate boring accounting language in such a way that business owners can understand and implement immediate action.

Outside of the office you'll find Tim training in the pool or on the road for an Ironman, having a beer with mates, or getting stuck in to property renovations.

Mike Wood

Mike has over 25 years working in Public practice, with the last 12 years in Cambridge. He has considerable accounting and taxation experience in small business and farm accounting, including a background in the UK. Mike enjoys working with clients ensuring they receive the very best attention.

When he's not in the office, Mike enjoys Tennis (to a good standard), Golfing (to a bad standard), Anything to do with sport (particularly football), Tramping, Travelling, and enjoying getting outside.

Michelle Brace – Practice Manager / Accountant (AT)

Michelle grew up in Cambridge and has been with Jane and Tim since 2017, taking on the Practice Manager role in early 2023.  

She thrives on helping others, ensuring clients are receiving exceptional service and our team are fully supported.  Michelle also assists in the accounting team preparing annual accounts and tax returns, enjoying the continual learning and growth as an Accountant.

Michelle has had a varied career with over 25 years of commercial experience working across many industries including Defence, Health, Real Estate, Construction, Fire Protection and Financial Services. She discovered her passion for Accounting later than usual so past work experience has included everything from reception/administration, management, software, payroll, bookkeeping, accounts through to refueling aircraft.

Outside the office Michelle enjoys camping, road trips, gardening and spending time with family and friends.

Ella Warren – Chartered Accountant

Ella has over 25 years of experience in the accounting industry, with the last 10 years in the Waikato. She has a good eye for detail and has a particular interest in farm accounting.

“I love having the opportunity to work with a variety of clients, helping them take the stress out of their accounting and tax obligations. Being part of the Evans Doyle Team makes coming to work fun and we have an awesome pool of knowledge and experience to pull from.”

When she is not in the office Ella enjoys tramping, biking, spending time with family, and scrapbooking.

Charlotte Kingston - Accountant

"My favourite thing about my job is working with our team, we are a great bunch, we work hard but we have fun together too. I love the variety of clients I work with, making a difference, and being able to convert clients to accounting software and helping resolve software issues."

When she's not in the office, you'll find Charlie spending time with family and her dog, and enjoying a good book or scrapbooking! 

Tim FitzPatrick - Chartered Accountant

In your own words, what do you do most days at work?
Prepare financial statements and tax returns for clients, review financial statements and tax returns prepared by other staff members, assist clients with general tax enquiries and compliance.

What do you enjoy doing with your spare time?
Hanging out with my wife and two daughters and playing squash.

What is your favourite drink?
Coffee during the day, beer during the night.

What do you enjoy most about your role?
Working with a diverse range of clients and a great team of people.

What is your experience or work history?
I’m qualified as a chartered accountant and have worked as an accountant for 15 years. I’ve held senior accounting roles at several Waikato chartered accountancy firms and have also worked as an accountant for Brian Perry Civil in the commercial sector.

Marie Evemy - Accountant 

Marie comes to us with over 20 years of experience in the accounting industry. 

"It’s really important for me to be surrounded by friendly people in the workplace, so naturally, my favourite part of working here is my workmates and all the laughs we have together. You hear about ‘boring accountants’, but I think we’re proof that accountants can be good at their job, help their clients, and still have a personality!  I also enjoy solving puzzles, and I find that sometimes reconciling accounts and helping clients with their Xero balancing issues can be a lot like solving a puzzle. Once you have all the pieces together, you can definitely make it work."

When she's not crunching numbers, you'll find Marie tiki touring around NZ, spending time with her husband and their teenage children, and enjoying a cheeky cider or two!

Rose Drayson - Accountant

"My favourite part of my job is the team I get to work alongside AND most importantly the delicious food we constantly get spoilt with."

When she's not in the office, you'll find Rose cake decorating and drumming.

Lisa Hammington - Chartered Accountant

Lisa is a friendly Chartered Accountant, whose career spans over two decades in the finance industry. Whilst many of those years have been in Wellington, she has recently returned to her hometown of the Waikato to spend more time with her family. 

Beyond her professional achievements, Lisa is an enthusiastic trail runner who's not afraid to take on the challenge of ultra-distance races. While not the fastest runner, she knows how to make the most of her entry fees by enjoying every step of the journey.

A seasoned Xero expert, she is driven by simplifying financial processes and has a proven track record of empowering clients to harness the full potential of this powerful accounting software. Her patience and clear guidance make complex financial tasks seem effortless.

William Chung - Chartered Accountant

In your own words, what do you do most days at work?
Preparing financial statements, management accounts and assisting clients with their accounting and business-related queries.

What do you enjoy doing with your spare time?
My hobbies included track days with the car, target shooting and spending time with friends and family. I also enjoy tinkering with computers in my spare time.

What is your favourite drink?
A good coffee during the day. Can’t go past a nice cider after hours.

What do you enjoy most about your role?
The freedom to explore different facets of the industry, and trust from the partners. Forming relationships with clients that go beyond the numbers

What is your experience or work history?
Qualified as a Chartered Accountant with 12 years’ experience. I have worked in public practice firms in the Waikato,  ranging from small boutique practices to the Big 4.

Catherine  Coley - Accountant

My background is in teaching although I have always had a passion for accounting.  I completed my Business Diploma through Massey University while at home with my children and am currently completing the CA program.

I enjoy working with clients and continually learning and growing in the role. 

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family on our farm, motorbike riding with my children and going to the gym.

Tracey Turner - Bookkeeper

What do you enjoy doing with your spare time?
I have a young family and we try to get outdoors and do activities in our spare time as much as possible. I entered in my first half marathon this year and loved it, might even try a full marathon one day!

What is your favourite drink?
Coffee or wine!

What do you enjoy most about your role?
Working in such a great team and also our fantastic clients. We have some great clients and I really enjoy being able to take the stress of their bookkeeping away from them! 

What is your experience or work history?
My background is Finance and Accounts Managing.

Kim Fredrickson - Bookkeeper/Payroll

In your own words, what do you do most days at work?
I assist our clients with their bookkeeping, payroll, GST Returns, Xero and other admin duties.

What do you enjoy doing with your spare time?
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I can be found spending time in our sports retail store or watching my children at their various sporting codes. 

What is your favourite drink?
Depending on the mood or occasion, I love a good coffee. Socially I enjoy a nice craft beer.

What do you enjoy most about your role?
When I get to be that “helping hand” to our clients who are great at their specialty, but need my expertise to help manage their business books. I love building relationships with our clients, being an ex-dairy farmer, I relate well to the agri sector.

What is your experience or work history?
I have worked in Accounting firms, lawyers, Schools and assisted my husband on our 250-cow dairy farm. 

Dave Stringer - Accountant 

After graduating in 2001 with a business degree in Bristol in the UK, I got a job in an accounting practice in Dorset and qualified as a chartered certified accountant (ACCA) in 2005.

I met a kiwi girl in the UK and moved to NZ in 2015 and settled in Cambridge.  We then moved to Blenheim and I am excited to have now rejoined my old Webb & Wood colleagues at Evans Doyle, working remotely.  

Outside of the office I enjoy hanging out with my wife and our little girl, travelling, drinking coffee and eating cake and 'doing up' our house

Angelique Woolridge - Accountant

Angelique is our accounting technician! 

"My favourite aspect of my job is definitely the people I work with!" (Are we sensing a theme here? We're a pretty great bunch!)

Stephanie Williams - Reception / Company Administration

Steph is the friendly face you’ll find as you walk into our office.

She assists with setting up new clients, GST returns, Annual Returns and takes care of our office administration.

“I enjoy getting to interact with and meet our clients, and having the opportunity to grow and learn new things. It’s great getting to work with our fantastic team.”

When she’s not in the office, Steph enjoys spending time with her family and fur babies, shopping with girlfriends and travelling.

Tracy Mihell - Accounting Technician and Adminstrator

In your own words, what do you do most days at work?
I am a part time contractor working remotely.  I help with preparing GST Returns, various projects and help Nicky, our lovely Practice Manager.

What do you enjoy doing with your spare time?
Play in a local ukulele band, motorbike and mountain bike riding, catching up with friends and also just lazing around the house.

What is your favourite drink?
A nice cup of tea anytime. Night-time - a nice glass of Pinot Noir or Shiraz

What do you enjoy most about your role?
Being part of a great team of people and just helping people.

What is your experience or work history?
Over the years I have done a variety of roles across many different sectors – local council in planning and rates departments, planted pine trees, hotel receptionist…. Also qualified as a Naturopath and reflexologist. Most recently I have worked in accounting firms in PA, administration, and accounting roles.

Sue Hoyle - Accountant

What do you do most days at work?
I work as a part-time contractor for Evans Doyle and prepare annual financial statements, Tax Returns and GST Returns. By working remotely, I miss the day-to-day contact with my colleagues but the bonus is being able to work at my desk in slippers with my dog at my feet!

What do you enjoy doing with your spare time?
Living in Picton, I love being able to spend time on the water either kayaking or exploring the Marlborough Sounds by boat and getting to watch dolphins and seals up close. I enjoy a daily walk or longer tramp on the many dog-friendly trails and sing with an all-female A Cappella choir.

What is your favourite drink?
During work hours I enjoy a trim flat white and after hours, it has to be an ice-cold Marlborough Pinot Noir Rosé!

What do you enjoy most about your role?
Apart from the flexibility of being able to choose my work hours, I enjoy the diversity of client businesses which I get to prepare accounts for. From an individual with one residential rental property to directors with multiple companies and trusts, each day brings a different set of challenges.

What is your experience or work history?
After completing a degree in Agriculture in Scotland, I changed career path to Accountancy and now have over 30 years of experience working in Chartered Accountancy practices in both Scotland and New Zealand. Over the years, I have seen the progression from preparing accounts from a shoe-box full of invoices and hand-written ledgers to today’s online paperless systems, which has allowed me to continue working for Evans Doyle despite a move to Picton in 2018. I have also gained valuable business experience through running a diverse range of businesses with my husband  - from retail and rental properties to horticulture, coffee roasting and farm stay accommodation.

Luca Lamplough - Cryptocurrency Tax Consultant

In your own words, what do you do most days at work?

I use my expertise in analysing cryptocurrency transactions from centralised and decentralised exchanges, to assist clients in tracing their acquisitions and disposals of crypto tokens over time, for tax purposes.  I advise clients on all sorts of crypto related questions and on any tax implications that may arise.

 What do you enjoy doing with your spare time?

I love playing squash and cricket over the weekends.  On a sunny day you would find me at the beach listening to a Bitcoin podcast.

 What is your favourite drink?

Double espresso with cream in the mornings and a scotch and soda in the evenings.

 What do you enjoy most about your role?

Tax can be stressful enough and that’s before you add in the complexity of cryptocurrency! I have a passion for helping others and using my knowledge and expertise to solve problems.

 What is your experience or work history?

I have a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Economics from Otago University.  I have worked alongside the Evans Doyle team since early 2021.

Kerri Dwane - Accountant

What do you do most days at work?
Preparing financial statements and tax returns, preparing other returns such as GST returns as well as peer reviewing the same. Preparing cashflows and forecasts and assisting with training when needed.  In my four year old daughter’s words Mummy plays on her computer and she wants to be an “on the counter” like Mummy.

What do you enjoy doing with your spare time?
I enjoy spending time with my daughter.  I also love reading, baking and cross stitch.

What is your favourite drink?
I can’t drink coffee so hot chocolate is my favourite drink.

What do you enjoy most about your role?
I enjoy forming relationships with clients and am passionate about providing them with accurate information to help with achieving their business goals.

What is your experience or work history?
25 years of working in chartered accounting practices.  I started working full time while studying part time as soon as I finished school, haven’t quite finished studying but am keen to complete that in the next few years.”
